The medals were awarded to 1,380 police officers on Sunday to mark the 75th Independence Day. The medals announced today by the Union Home Ministry include: the President's Police Bravery Medal, the Police Bravery Medal, the President's Police Medal for Outstanding Service and the Police Medal for Commendable Service. A total of 628 employees received the Bravery Award. The recipients include 256 Jammu and Kashmir police, 151 CRPFs, 20 ITBPs and 67, 25, and 20 police officers from Odisha, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. The rest of the state, union territories and the Central Armed Forces belong to the police force, the ministry said.
