Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav last night reviewed various railway projects in Odisha under the East Coast Railway. He has sat in his ministry and discussed with senior officials the extent to which projects in Odisha have progressed. One by one, he learned about the slow-moving rail projects. The minister said the 306 km Khordha Road - Balangir railway line was a priority. Asked about how far the project has gone, where it has been stalled, and why it has been delayed. Anugul - Sukinda, Haridasapur - Paradip, Talcher - Bimalagarh, Jaipur - Nabarangpur, Jaipur - Malkangiri have reviewed the construction of new railway lines. He also reviewed the Bansapani - Daitari - Tomka - Jakhapura, Sambalpur - Titilagarh, Khordha Road - Barang, Vijayanagaram - Sambalpur, Talcher - Sambalpur railway doubling works. In addition, Talcher's Jharpada - Budhapanka flyover, Salega - Budhapanka, Bhadrak - Nirgundi, Jagadalpur - Koraput, Koraput Singhapur, Narayanagarh - Bhadrak, Raipur - Titilagarh, Rourkela - Jharsuguda, Jharsuguda - bilasapur and others are among the major projects undertaken by the Union Minister.
He also prepared a roadmap for the development of future railways in Odisha. As Odisha is rich in industry and mineral resources, the also considering how to expand the transport sector to railways. Especially from the industrial cities like Kendujhar, Jajpur, Sundargarh, Anugul, he has outlined how to connect more to Paradip. Union Minister Shri Vaishnav also reviewed the proposals made by the state government at various times. Discussions have also been held on how to connect the railways with the tourism sector. After the review meeting, Union Minister Shri Vaishnav tweeted about this. He also released a video reviewing the railway project by placing an Odisha map on his office table. In doing so, he wants to show how much he values Odisha. The move by the Union Minister has been welcomed in various quarters. Mr. Vaishnav, who went to the Rajya Sabha as an MP from Odisha, has been praised by many on Twitter for his first commitment to the state.
