Odisha will be the country's steel hub by 2030 - Chief Minister

                    By 2030, Odisha will become the country's steel hub. Steel production in the state will reach 100 million tones. The state government has taken steps, which has led to an increase in investment in the state. The state's investment in the state has increased to 4.41 lakh in the last two years. The state government has recently approved an investment of Rs 1,47,000 crore in Odisha. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said it was mainly the steel industry.

                    The government-sanctioned project includes an integrated steel project of Dhenkanal Rungata Mines Limited worth Rs 11,000 crore. The project currently produces 3 million tones of steel, while it will produce 7.55 million tones of steel in the future. Various sections of the people, including the people’s representatives of Dhenkanal district, thanked the Chief Minister today for the expanded project.

                     Responding to the people of Dhenkanal district, Mr. Patnaik said that Dhenkanal district is famous for the pedestal of Lord Chandrasekhar and various tourist attractions. His goal is to make Dhenkanal a mineral-rich district by investing in mineral resources. The project is an important step in this direction. The chief minister added that when he took office in 2000, the state produced only 2 million tones of steel. It has now reached 30 million tones. It is because of the steel mills that we have been able to save a lot of lives by supplying oxygen to 17 states in the country during the second wave of Covid today. So everyone needs to have the cooperation of everyone, starting with the people’s representatives, to ensure that the various projects of the government are completed in a timely manner. The mega piped water supply project in Dhenkanal district is nearing completion. This will make it possible to have piped water at home in 8 blocks and all urban areas of the district. The health infrastructure is being strengthened to provide better health care to the people in the district. The chief minister said steps had been taken to make the district main hospital 300 beds.

                     Minister for Mines and Steel Prafulla Mallick, who took part in the video conference, said the project would be a milestone in the development of Dhenkanal district. The Minister welcomed the Chief Minister's efforts to make Dhenkanal district industrially prosperous. Among others, MP Mahesh Sahu, MLA Sudhir Samal and Nrushinh Sahu, Nindol and Otapata Block Chairman thanked the Chief Minister for participating in the project area representative program and thanked the Chief Minister for creating economic opportunities and employment for the youth of the district. Conducting the program, Chief Minister's Secretary V. K. Pandian said "In less than 20 years, Odisha has relied on the cooperation of other states in various fields, but today Odisha has extended its hand of cooperation to other states and brightened the picture of development,".
